"Thank You Very Much" 264-72 Street, Brooklyn N.Y., December 30, 1984 Dear Anna and Frank, Thank you for the very pleasant surprise. I must tell you that when I took the lid off and presented the tin to Jane for inspection, she had the cellophane busted and a fruitcake scooped out, de-cupped, and moth-popped, nice as little Jack Horner, before I could exclaim, "Hey! Stop that!" We both agreed that it was the best fruitcake we had ever tasted - no big chunks of citron to antagonize my dentures - just a cake of solidified nectar, moist as a maidens[?] pucker. We both appreciate your thoughtfulness, even more than the present. I surmise that you were visiting your sisters in Maine during the holidays. I hope you had the same joyous reunion with your common and respective progenies, numerous as the sea-sands, as you enjoyed last year. May your good fortune and good health continue for many years.
