June 10, 1984 Dear Francis & Anna - Just now getting over the "jet lag." We left Frank on May 29th and just in time as it was really wet when we left - roads were flooded. We had a wonderful time. Joan and her daughter left the Monday after you were there and Carol and her husband (Frank's second daughter) arrived Mon afternoon and stayed until Wed. Such a round of fun. We went up to the Dutch country one day and I have never seen the like of it. We never did get into Philly but Al & Verna took off on Fri for Washington in Frank's car. Took a day and nite tour of Wash and fell in love with it . They came home did the naval academy and loved every bit of it. Jim called me before we left and was so sorry he couldn't make it - tried hard but no go - I certainly appreciate the effort you and Anna made to visit us, too bad we didn't have more time together - 2 weeks is too short but we just got home in time as Al became a grandad a second time to another boy Mark William - that's one of the reasons we came early and only stayed 2 weeks. I was really shocked to see how Frank had failed in a years time. Good thing we made it when we did. Well Frank & Anna thanks again for coming to see us too bad we live so far apart. I must run now as I still have a lot of catching up to do- Take care Love Margaret |
