Thurs May 14, 1981 Dot, Jay, etc: Aunt Dot's worst fears, the background for which in this letter, came true. Last Monday at Mercy hospital in Portland they removed on-half of her lung. The tumor was malignant. She is reportedly doing well, and when released from the hospital in another week or so, will begin radiation treatment to "clean up" the malignant cells possibly remaining. She tells Ronnie "Smoking isn't worth it!" Dad Her address: Mercy Hospital, State St., Portland ME 04101 |
