Maybe our Friend, Hägar, has more, much more, experience at family reunions than we do, and that accounts for his plainly negative, anti-social attitude in Dik Browne's strip. [But his wife doesn't seem to share his viewpoint as she smilingly greets that viking horde at the door - they must be all her relatives, not his!!].

Anyway, Anna & I are bold (foolish?) enough to sponsor the 2^nd annual Shields's "Reunion, Steak Roast, Beer Bash, and Clambake" this year on July 4 weekend at "23 Ashley Dr." The 4^th is a Friday and those who can come then or slightly ahead are welcome, but we'll plan the action for Saturday, July 5. All Shieldses and children are invited, but we can't attempt to put you all up for the weekend. We've got lots of land, however, and campers, tenters, and sleeping-baggers can use it to avoid motel expenses. (No bunking together for teen-age - or older! - unmarrieds; there's a zoning law!) For extra attraction, the Saratoga Fair will be on. Can you plan to come, and can we have a head count?
