Dear Frank,

Awfully sorry that I never wrote to you Frank. But when I first became a civilian, I'm afraid the going was a lot tougher that I had anticipated. I tried to write you & couldn't. Then when I had over come my fears I was so use to the fact of not writing anyone that I just continued in my errant ways.

But I do have news for you Frank. That is if you don't already know. After 4 long years Felicity has finally consented to become my wife, & just as soon as I can put away some money, we will be married. So if you & Peg intend being the first, you had better hurry home. It all happened very sudden like Frank. I guess I was more surprised than anyone. I have been trying so hard & for so long, that when She said she loved me, I could hardly believe it. I still can't believe it. It's too good to be true. My only prayer is that She be sure of herself. I wouldn't want her to regret it. But I think She knows her mind Frank. Fel is quite a changed girl, as  you should see, when you arrive home. The navy took her away from me last Monday night & sent her to Shoemaker Calif. How do you like that? Now I know how girls feel when there fellows go off to war!

Peg is waiting for y ou Frank. Don't disappoint her, She has been waiting for you for a long time now. That's about all for preent Frank. I'll try to drop you a line again soon.

I hope your Christmas will be a little better than the one I spent overseas. Best of luck Frank & take care of your self. Pray for me, I'm trying for the Fire Dept. sometime after the first of the year. It will mean a lot to me, and Fel too, if I can make it. So pray hard Frank. Thanks a million.
