Dear little 275s, etc:

See, I promised all of you I'd be gone by Thanksgiving & here I am. Have had a very pleasant trip so far. It hasn't been nearly as tiresome as I had anticipated. The food has been wonderful, so you would know the trip would be a success as far as I'm concerned.

Martha Edwards, how much did you bet me I'd get the right APO? You owe me. We came thru your hometown.

Hutch, don't let your mother kid you about how cool she is. We almost smothered, although I'll admit we were below your home town several miles.

Spencer, I was sorry about your father. Also sorry I didn't get to see you again before I left. Your mountains are beautiful now.

Was glad, since I had to come this way, that I got to come over a different route than I traveled in May, as I had seen that country several times, but had never seen Utah and Nevada.

I have spent most of my time crocheting. Meant to write a lot of letters but the train is too rough, so will put them off until we arrive, which should be today. (What is today? Sorry - that's a Military Secret!)

How are the new recruits these days? Probably all AJC[?] and selecting the exact spot on the globe they wish to serve in. Yes, I'm rather burned up, but guess I'll get over it.

Will write more when I get settled. All of you write to me, please.
