Dear David,

With sometime to spare, I may as well get down to answering your letter.

It's too bad I missed you that Sunday, but every week-end, I have been going home.

We are not finished until 6:30 P.M. on Sat. and I just make the 6:52 train.

The place is really alright. There isn't any "C.S." at all.

Up at 5:30; leave on the subway at 6:30 to Penn Station. We catch the L.I. train to Hicksville at 6:42. We arrive at the plant at 8:00 P.M. We wear fatigue clothes out there. We don't have to keep the jacket on either. Smoking is allowed in the classrooms.

4 hours of lab or direct work on the equipment and 4 hours of theory.

We are covering the 2.5, 15, 40 KW and the new Army 981. This equipment is really good. We have a field course in Antennas and Station Operation. There is 65 antennas used at this station. It's the second largest station in the world.

As to training program, we have 15 minutes calisthenics. The instructors aren't any too hot, but we find out for ourselves. There isn't any homework, so we are free every evening. Bed check at eleven; on Sat. at twelve. I'm class leader and receive a revellie pass to Monday.

All in all everything is okay.

As to your situation, things don't sound too bad. Let's hope you get a few stripes. You deserve them.
