Dear Mom & Dad:

Have received both your fine letters, but am asking you to be patient, for a decent answer.

Right now have a "touching" request to make of you. Bear with me! - Have sent you $30 Mom, & now going to ask you to send back 15 or 20 of it  - or  of mine if you have it (cancel the wedding!) Out of my $50 spent 15 for shoes, hose, etc - Now am leaving here next Sunday at 2:30 PM to spend 1 day with our red-headed gunner. Will be back here Wed. nite. An exhausting trip but worth it. And I don't want to fall short of cash in the middle of no-where.

Say a prayer I get back on time - it's really a close call coming back.
