June 8th, 1944 How strange the world becomes in a few short days. Mom, Dad and I were shocked beyond expression to receive word that our darling had been killed in an airplane crash in Corsica May 10th. Our entire world seems to have ended. We do not know any of the details as yet. I shall write Joe as I imagine he would want to know. We would like to hear from him as he was with Roy [Ray Fletcher] so long.
